Ju 88 A-7 2177 FFS-B-7
Seeking crew listing for this aircraft reported shot down 27th January 1944 and confirmation of the Bm and Bs reported as lost in the shooting down of Ju 88 A-7 3713 shot down the same day . I have the article 'Les Unites De Seconde Ligne De La Luftwaffe En France ' but have difficulty with the crew names in the article against names given on the Grabesuche site e.g. Fw Gerhard Meindl in the article I believe is Fw Gerhard Meinel in the grave list ,

Re: Ju 88 A-7 2177 FFS-B-7
Thank you all for the information . From the combat report I would assume F/L Johnson shot down 2177 he said his victim exploded in the air while F/O Caine reported one man baling out from his victim making 3713 his likely victory . The only crew information I have for the 3713 crew was from Avions which showed Bm Uffz Rolf Scharfe and Flugschuler Fhr Harold Bartel as being killed.

Re: Ju 88 A-7 2177 FFS-B-7
#5 - reason #1 for sticking to the WNr. as reported (in the case the WNr.2177) in a loss. Sometimes the later 88 losses are reported with a leading '88', sometimes not. Making assumptions on a number could eventually create more problems than it resolves.
