Question Georg Ludwig,German Cross in Gold Holder

Gentlemen,

Georg Ludwig of JG-77 had at least 40 air-to-victories to his credit. His 40th victory was over a B-24 over Romania on April 5,1944 according to Kracker Archives. Do you know the fate of this German ace? I have a hunch that Ludwig may had score more victories that we don't know after April 5,1944. What was his final wartime rank in the Luftwaffe?

Sincerely,

Edward L. Hsiao
