8th AF P40 Losses
Hi,
In "Losses of the 8th & 9th AF's June 1942 to December 1943 " there is reference to two P40 losses. Any one have details on these birds ? Stress Not P39/P-400 but P40E, two recorded as SAL 92 BG, one at least. Alex |

Re: 8th AF P40 Losses
Hi Alex
Information I received from Buz in Australia recently indicates that AK573 was on the strength of 24 Sq at Hendon 20/8/42 for the use of US Forces .It became Instructional Airframe 4101M on 28/8/43 at 11 STT AK580 was on the strength of 24 Sq for the same purpose also 20.8.42 This A/C moved about somewhat , being shown on the strength of 3206SC and 3204SC. It too became an Instructional Airframe on 29/8/43 4102M at 8 STT. I don't know if this is any use to you. Cheers Terry |
