Airport identification

Hi,
please does anyone know the name of the airport or the unit in the photo?
On the back of the photo is the date: July 1943
Thank you for any information!
Regards Tony

Re: Airport identification

This looks like a line up of Fw 190 A-6 somewhere "An der Kanal Küste", if we are to trust writing across the photo.

Re: Airport identification

Chris, you're right, there are no details in this photo that could help with identification.
But maybe someone knows this photo and will help me find the answer.
Thank you Tony

Re: Airport identification

I looked again and compared it with other pictures of Woensdrecht. That shed on the right hand side is a 99% match. I am pretty sure this is II./JG 1.

Re: Airport identification

If you have Mombeek's JG 1 or Dutch Airfield book you will see the wooden shed on other pictures

Re: Airport identification

I have a great book by Eric Mombeek "DEFENDING THE RECH". On page 149 is a photo of Fw 190 at Woensdrecht Airport. You're right - it's similar. But I'm not sure. Aircraft II.Gruppe JG 1 had a painted emblem "Tatzelwurm". In my photo I do not see this emblem.
