Re: Accident 13.09.1944
Fenix78,
I think you may be possibly misreading something. William Schoppman in plane 44-41096, MACR 8375 was shot down on 10 September, 1944. The plane was "lost" on that date. However, the dates you have hi-lighted in red are written in month-day-year format, e.g., (9/10/1944) is September 10 not October 9. I think on 13 September 1944 the group may have written off the plane. There was no "accident" on 13 September as the plane was already lost on 10 September. 13 September was just the date that shows the plane removed from the records of the group. It is a "book-keeping" date. |

Re: Accident 13.09.1944
Hi
Of course my mistake you have right. Should be date 10 september. It interested me because in column accident date is writing date after shoting down this plane. It was strange for me and it is the reason of my post. Second option is that somebody mixed up the date. Accident was 10.09 but finnaly plane was shuting down 13.09.1944. I must check exactly MACR because now I dont have possibility to do it. |
