Luftwaffe Gallery # 6: LUCK, FATE and DESTINY
Dear friends, dear readers, dear followers,
It is with great pleasure that we announce the release, on 15 October, of the 10th publication in the Luftwaffe Gallery (LuGa) series which, as chance would have it, also corresponds with the 10th anniversary since its introduction. We took this opportunity to renew the layout of the series. Once again, our aim is to offer you an informative reading experience: testimonials, analyses, photos and profiles that you will not have read or seen anywhere else. This issue has as its common thread "luck and misfortune": be it in the first victory or the first loss, or even the first air-sea rescue of enemy aircrew and also the part played by superstition. Records of victory and the Luftwaffe claims procedure is also examined and commented on by experienced pilots from JG 1, JG 2 and JG 26. One of them, Hans Berger, a former Staffelkapitän in JG 1, is a professional translator and has been translating the chronicles of JG 1, JG 2, JG 4 and JG 5 into German for about 30 years. It is thus he, at more than 95 years of age, who made possible the recent publication of volume 6 of JG 2 devoted to the terrible year 1944. Samples of the new LuGa #6 are available on our website www.luftwaffe.be as well as on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Luftwaffe.Gallery/ The 11th LuGa is already in preparation. It will be the "Special #5" dedicated to a very prestigious Jagdgeschwader. More details in a few months. Good Reading Erik and Maciej |

Re: Luftwaffe Gallery # 6: DIORAMA COMPETITION
Hello,
On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, Luftwaffe Gallery (LuGa) invites you to a great diorama competition. The subject is the representation of an airfield (or field airfield) used by the Luftwaffe during World War II, inspired by images published in the Luftwaffe Gallery series. Free and open to all, this competition is divided into three categories according to the following scales: Cat. 1: 1/72, Cat. 2: 1/48 and Cat. 3: 1/32 (for which existing material in 1/35 can be used). Great prizes. Details and rules on http://www.luftwaffe.be/diorama/ You are all welcome. Erik |

Re: Luftwaffe Gallery # 6: LUCK, FATE and DESTINY
I received the book yesterday and have not finished reading it but my initial impression is very positive. There are articles on Ubben and Wurmheller with previously unseen photos and color schemes. The layout has been revised and photos numbers are tied directly to items and remarks in the text.. The overall layout of the book has been revised . Other article cover airfield tank trucks, the He-115 and aircraft markings with a gambling theme.. It seems to be available in the US on eBay and Amazon as well as several other locations.

Re: Luftwaffe Gallery # 6: LUCK, FATE and DESTINY
Just received my copy of the book. Only had a quick look but it is packed with interesting photos and excellent profiles. It covers some interesting subjects that do not normally attract a lot of attention such as Luftwaffe ground equipment and a detailed study of the claims procedure. Highly recommended for modellers and those looking for an introduction into diverse Luftwaffe subjects.
Best regards Andy Fletcher

I just finished reading it. While I have no interest in the trucks the rest is excellent, looking forward to the next issue!

Re: Luftwaffe Gallery # 6: LUCK, FATE and DESTINY
I received my copy last week.
This new booklet in the "Luftwaffe Gallery" is, as usual, full of new interesting photos. I also appreciated the very marked improvement in the layout (no more horrible wooden frames around the profiles, no more texts printed on a fake brick wall background !). My only regret = I will have to wait for long months before discovering the next issue. |
