Seeking ID of Stuka down at Langemarck, Belgium circa May, 1940

Hello,

Does anyone have any information on this Ju87B Stuka that apparently crashed at Langemarck, Belgium, probably some time in May, 1940? We find nothing in our EoE Stuka loss index for that location.

Alain,

I don't have any loss on June 1, 1940 at Poperinge. Here is the only loss I have that might pertain:

"1 June 1940: 3.(St)/ TrGr.186 Junkers Ju87B-1. Shot down in combat involving Nos. 64, 220, 229, and 242 Squadrons during attack on shipping off Dunkirk 4.45 p.m. FF Lt Walter Stengel killed, BF Uffz Paul Horstmann believed captured wounded – later released. Aircraft 100% write-off."

Do you or anyone else have any further information on this Stuka crash near "Poperinge?" Condition, casualties, anything?
