Looking for info, FW190 A8 10+BK Bad Aibling

Gents,

New to this forum, great one with a lot of info.

I am looking for some info about a FW190 A8, I guess, captured in Bad Aibling on May 5th 1945 (that's a color scheme given by revell 1/72 FW190 A8).

The color scheme is rather odd, RLM 76, no defense of the reich bar.

I didn't manage to find anything on the net.

Re: Looking for info, FW190 A8 10+BK Bad Aibling

Hello,

I know an art-profil with this call sign: small yellow 10, small black letter "vs" at left of the cross and great black letter "BX" at right of the cross from the right side of the plane.

The only picture I know about this plane at Bad Aibling shows the same side from the rear and the "X" letter isn't visible.

I never seen the left side of this plane but i presume the call sign was painted like this: Great black letter "VS" at left of the cross and small black letter "bx" at right of the cross fallowed by the small yellow 10.

We have the same rule with a Fw 190 S-8 at Bad Aibling "BW" + "wd" yellow 27 at left side.

Both from an unknowed unit.

Best regards,
Lumabe.

Thanks.
Strange colour pattern though, full RLM76.

Hello xav_nl,

in AIRFOIL No. 5 (1987) Steve Sheflin has dealt with this Fw 190 A-8 and commented:
VS+BX … has been roughly repainted in overall Light Blue 76, probably in preparation for a complete re-camouflage job. Note the bomber-style code application, with the black "VS" approximately 1/5 the size of the "BX", as well as the yellow "10" on the rear fuselage.

Regards
Leo

This machine & this kit were my first ever model built Xav_Nl!
Since then I have managed to acquire a copy of the magazine mentioned by Leo above which is the only place I have ever seen the photo of this machine. There is a set of decals in 1/48 scale for this machine too. I can scan them & send it to you if needed. Let me know
