Re: Photos + 5-6

That third (last) Bf 109F, "schwarze 3 + |" belonged to Herbert SCHRAMM, 8./JG 53. Too bad the photographer did not back up far enough to show the rudder with the Abschussbalken.

Thanks, Ed, for your continued 'hunting,'

Re: Photos + 5-6

In the second 109 photo, can anyone read the SKZ clearly? It appears to be PE+DP. Also, a couple of questions:
  1. What's with the crowd on the edge of the grassy area?
  2. Wonder what those big 1940-style crosses are doing on an elderly 109 with apparently 70/71 paint?

Re: Photos + 5-6

Hello John,

I've played a bit in Photoshop with the contrast and brightnes curves, and in my opinion the stammkennzeichen looks more like PL+OM. Although the third letter could also be an "D", the stkz block PL+Dx is a known block of Bf109 G-6s in the WNr. range 18257 - 18282.

Any comments are welcome.

best regards
Tomislav
