Night fighter units equipped with the Ju88 during 1940?

Hello,

Am continuing to lay out the profile packages for the Ju88 for the EOE book series (1939-40 war period). I know that 4./NJG1 and 3./NJG2 had Ju88s assigned to them during 1940. What other NJG units were equipped with the Ju88 during this period, and when did they first receive the a/c type?

Regards,

Re: Night fighter units equipped with the Ju88 during 1940?

Hello Larry,

As the number of nightfighter Staffeln, let alone Gruppen, were rather limited up to the end of 1940 and their respective origins well covered, the Ju88's were for 99% exclusively flown by the I./NJG 2 for their offensive nightfighting operations over England.

So, for the 1939-1940 time span you can concentrate on the 4./NJG 1 and I./NJG 2. Both units are not subject of my research (though curiously watching what happened there of course)

All the best, Marcel
