Re: 41 dated mae west with WATERWAIF penned on the rear.......
Hello all,
I have recently picked up a very nice 41 pattern Mae West, on the rear of the centre panel in ink is written 'waterwaif', I am unsure if this is a surname as very unusual, I looked it up and there is a few in the USA but cannot locate any RAF records to anyone with this detail. Can anyone help with a possible lead even if this is not a surname? Thanks Danny

Danny, I'm sure this isn't a surname. You know the phrase 'Waifs and strays'? This is a riff on the concept.
