Re: Giulio Torresi

Hi,probably a RE-2005,i have this :
The Gruppo also received the prototype of the Re.2005 (MM494) and Vittorio Minguzzi made the first flight with this aircraft on 7 March 1943.
He then brought it to Napoli-Capodichino where it was incorporated into 362a Squadriglia.

During April 362a Squadriglia received three more Re.2005s from the “0-serie” (MM092344 (362-1?), MM092345 (362-2) and MM092346 (362-3)).
Torresi made his first flight with this type on 9 April.

On 10 April a mixed formation of Re.2005s, MC.202s and MC.205s attacked a group of B-24s. During this combat Torresi claimed one destroyed and three shared.

At 13:30 on 28 April 22o Gruppo scrambled four Re.2005s, eleven MC.202s and one Dewoitine D.520 from Capodichino to intercept a large group of Liberators, escorted by thirty fighters, which were out to bomb Naples. The Re.2005s were flown by Maggiore Vittorio Minguzzi (Re.2005 "362" MM494), Capitano La Ferla ("362-1" MM092344), Tenente Torresi ("362-2" MM092345) and Sergente Donati, ("362-3" MM092346).
Hope this little help.max.

Dear Nuvola10,

you're right.

Can you tell me the decimals of Torresi's 3 shares ?

Ciao,

Michael

Re: Giulio Torresi

Hello Max,

I know this wonderful website.
However, it doesn't reveal how many pilots took part in the shared kills of Torresi on 10Apr43.
Where can I find that info ?

Sincerely,

Michael

Re: Giulio Torresi

Good afternoon,

Giulio Torresi is still my foremost candidate for a genuine Reggiane Re.2005 ace likely having scored 4+3sh of his 10+10sh kills in that type. However, I'm still looking for the number of pilots who took part in his shared kills on 10Apr1943, to elucidate his Re.2005 decimal score.
This site mentions that incident:
https://members.tripod.com/cm_busc/id19.htm

Have a nice Sunday,

Michael

Re: Giulio Torresi

Does anybody know if Giulio Torresi's 4 Re.2005 kills (possibly 4+3shared) make him the top-scorer of that aircraft type?
