I would try Edington. Wilts, then Purley. Surrey

"On Aug. 7, in a flying accident. P.O. Peter Ashman Smith, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Huso Ashman Smith, of The Filberts. Edington. Wilts, and late of Purley. Surrey"

Thanks both most helpful. I found the crash site of this ac about half a mile from my house when I was much younger. You could see the holes in the hedgerow when the fire brigade burst through. I found all sorts of bits spread over the field such as 20mm rounds, camera gun, turbine blades. I wonder what has come to light since I was last this c****t knows how long ago ?
