I'm just bumping this thread to see if anybody has possibly come across 'new' info or to get fresh ideas on what Bill Lyon's victim could have been

Today I found this site, which has a number of combat reports from 9 February 1945. Hopefully this will shed some more light on the claims/losses that day:

This post also includes a sound recording of Bill Lyons telling about the 9 Feb '45 air battle. Have a look & listen!

In the end I went for an Me 109, but I still am not sure if this was the right choice. I guess we may never know...
