PO Samuel Fisk Whedon VR101462
Hello again,
This American pilot flew with 133 sqn, and after Pearl Harbour transferred to the USAAF to 4th Fighter Group. Can anyone please tell me which US units did he fly with. Best wishes, Roy |

Re: PO Samuel Fisk Whedon VR101462
I think he was killed on 3 March 1942 with 133 Squadron flying Spitfire P8438:
"Mid-air collision with P8595, crashed near Epworth, Lancs. Baled out but fell over as he landed." John |

Re: PO Samuel Fisk Whedon VR101462
Hello,
P/O Samuel F WHEDON was killed on 3 April 1942, not 3 March. P8438 was abandoned near Epworth, Lincolnshire, not Lancashire. Spitfire P8595 was piloted by P/O William A ARENDS, who survived the mid-air, but was lost on 20 June 1942. Col. |
