USAAF System of coordinates used on the ETO
Hi All
I want identified some geographical coordinates from USAAF (9th AF) reports. Can you help me? for example: T 393 397, T - 4337, T - 5537 thanks in advance Milan |

Dear Milan,
You can use this web site http://www.echodelta.net/mbs/eng-translator.php You follow the explainations to find the appropriate grid (and the appropriate square) and to find the good letter to add before the coordinates that are written in the MACRs. For example, L1660 in the MACR becomes vL1660 with the French Lambert Zone 2 grid. Thanks to this site I found that the coordinates of some targets bombed or strafed match the town associated to the coordinates in the MACRs. Good research, Olliball |
