Bf 109 component data plate

Can anyone provide any information on the attached data plate ?
I know that Shaffer u. Budenberg GmbH made fuel and oil pressure gauges for Luftwaffe aircraft but what is an "Abbeitszylinder" ? The word seems to translate as "actuator". I think S+B also made pressure gauges for the oxygen supplies.
The Gerat Nr. reads 10 - 225 2A and the Werk Nr. 4074 if the scanned photograph isn't too clear.
I would appreciate any thoughts.
Nick

Re: Bf 109 component data plate

Could I suggest it might be Arbeitszylinder?

I suppose the literal translation might be work-cylinder or some such.

Master cylinder?

Re: Bf 109 component data plate

Nick,
could it be that the full text on the plate is F.W.Arbeitszylinder ?

If this is the case it means that you are looking at the plate of the FAHRWERK ARBEITSZYLINDER

Or in English the servo cylider for the retractable landing gear.
I understand that the cylinders were placed in the wing.
Hope my sugestion is of any help
regards
Sealander

Re: Bf 109 component data plate

Sealander - Thanks for that thought.
The first character could certainly be an "F" but the rest is obliterated until the "itszylinder" bit. Perhaps there is someone out there who might be able to tell us more based on your suggestion.
I think the plate is made of aluminium (it is certainly very light), is 68mm in diameter and was evidently fixed by 4 small rivets (the one bottom left is still in situ)
Regards
Nick

Re: Bf 109 component data plate

Hi!

The exact info is:

19-2252 A

F Arbeitszylinder

The only problem is that this number is not in the Master Fl List, and is not an Me109 compenent that I know of (of course, I have not referenced the manuals in a while).

Re: Bf 109 component data plate

Mike,

Many thanks for providing the correct Gerat Nr. of 19-2252 A
The information I had been given previously was that it was from a Bf 109 but it would seem not !
Ideas anyone ?

Regards

Nick

Re: Bf 109 component data plate

Hi Mike:

The later MLG actators for Bf 109s were GNr 8-2790C-1, 50 ø x 320 (bore x stroke). The B/C/D/E versions used a 8-2790A-1.

I looked, also, in the Fl lists I have - but no joy.

Regards,
James
