MACR Lt. Miller Beverly 10.01.1944.
Hello all
I am trying to find MACR for Lt. Miller Beverly O-666416, 319 FS/325 FG. I was able to find on RAF 112.org that MACR was 2061 (possible connection to 2059) but no MACR for this case I found. "He went into the Adriatic just off the coast of Yugoslavia - MIA" If there is no MACR is there any report about coordinates. As always, thanks in advance Antun |

Re: MACR Lt. Miller Beverly 10.01.1944.
Hello,
The tail number was 42-75006 but joebaugher.com has no further information on the loss. The MACR is 2061. I could not find the matching tail code on fold3. From a different site: "Today's target for the bombers was Sofia Bulgaria. Bev. Miller of the 319th went into the Adriatic just off the coast of Yugoslavia, (Crashed just off the Dalmatian coast) after his motor quit. None of his flight saw him go in and so they spent a lot of time looking for him without success. All he had to keep him afloat was his "Mae West." , Miller called his flight just before he hit the water and told them that he was "kind of nervous" because it was a long swim to the coast. Entered the Service from, Texas, Tablets of the Missing at Florence American Cemetery, Florence, Italy, Awards: Air Medal, Purple Heart" Best, Ed |

Re: MACR Lt. Miller Beverly 10.01.1944.
Years ago, when it was possible to request access to the originals of MACRs, I pulled the box for 2061. All the folder had was a note that the MACR was charged out at the time of filming. So no luck there. I then went through the process of requesting the IDPF for Beverly Earl Miller, and miracle of miracles it actually contained a copy of the MACR (some do, some don't). The cause of loss was given as mechanical failure; last seen at 1420 hours, at 41-57N, 19E, Yugoslavia coast; on a mission to Sofia.
Enjoy! Frank.
