10. Staffel Kampf-Geschwader 30. May 1, 1942

Hi Guys - According to de Zeng and Stankey, IV. Gruppe attacked a target in northeast England on May 1, 1942 and lost two aircraft. I'm assuming it was two of their Ju88s. Does anyone know the names of the crewmembers in these planes?

Thank you!
Brian

Excellent. Thank you, Leo. These are the specific losses for May 1st and the list was initially generated on May 4th?

Lost 1 May, reported 4 May 42. There were quite a number of Ju 88s lost night of 30 April-1 May 42 off NE coast and are detailed in the late Bill Norman's book Broken Eagles 2

Thanks, Chris. I was looking for a guy named Adolf Köpl and was assuming he would have been on one of those planes (probably the one from 10. Staffel). But, no dice... any chance he is listed in the book (I don't have it)?

Re: 10. Staffel Kampf-Geschwader 30. May 1, 1942

Gen.Qu. loss report from May 7, 1942 No. 35:
the code was 4D+FU, all four crewmembers were missing.

Correction from June 7, 1942 :
Uffz Leiper, Gefr Keil gefallen. Streiche: 2 Vermisste. Setze: 2 Tote.
In the correction the name of the pilot was spelled Leiper, not Leyser.

Leo

The NVM clearly lists Bernhard Leyser (father Reinhold Leyser).
