Bundesarchive - Luftwaffe Officer Files
For anyone interested, Bundesarchiv/Invenio have started uploading Luftwaffe officer Personalakten files for free download. At the moment it seems that most of them are for the General ranks and vary in content - Kammhuber's isn't listed (yet/ever?), Kesselring's has just 6 pages while others have 200-400 pages with some including their Wehrstammbücher among the pages (Hans Jeschonnek for example). They are in PERS 6

Re: Bundesarchive - Luftwaffe Officer Files
These have been up for just over a year. There's been no real progress of late.
It will be easiest for anyone interested to follow this link and work through them as Pages 1-11 list the digitised files. https://invenio.bundesarchiv.de/inve...-fa5525f69487/ |

Re: Bundesarchive - Luftwaffe Officer Files
That makes sense as he had a post-war career.
PERS 1 is not searchable via Invenio but I have previously used a paid researcher (Sebastian Remus) to check if files exist for officers with post-war careers and get these 'released' for research purposes. Where they do, there can be documents from the WW2 period in these files. If anyone wants me to post up contact details for Remus, just let me know. |

Sebastian is a great asset and will save both time and money (but will cost you money!)

Re: Bundesarchive - Luftwaffe Officer Files
Only nothing is for nothing!
Yes, not necessarily cheap but he has to make a living. High quality images and follows instructions to a tee provided they are clearly set out. Factor in the costs of travel and accomodation and the comparative costs become much more reasonable. |

Re: Bundesarchive - Luftwaffe Officer Files
Indeed-taxi to airport, flight, hire car, petrol, hotel, food & drink, time and then you have to find what you are looking for while Sebastian knows exactly where to go. Financial no-brainer if you want the material

Not only was he extremely prompt, he also told me that one of the things I asked him for was now available to download.

Re: Bundesarchive - Luftwaffe Officer Files
I wanted to check out the file of Gen. Deßloch. I found him, but cannot see the digitised document. How can I see it? Thanks for your help.
