Tip and run tactics against V1's
I'm looking for details on tipping V1's by using the wing tip of a pursuing fighter aircraft. I have seen reference to this somewhere and a picture of a Spitfire going through the motions, but can't find out when this first occurred, who was the first pilot to do so or who were the first units to perfect this tactic. Can anyone help ?

Re: Tip and run tactics against V1's
I believe the famous series of photos was taken in June 1944 but I would not say it was a tactics. At least judging by Mustang operations, such method was extraordinary, and possibly that is the reason it is so well known. The first known wingtipping was done by F/O Collier of 91 Sqn on 23 June 1944.

Re: Tip and run tactics against V1's
Hi Ian,
Last issue of the Revi magazine has my comprehensive article about first tipping of the V-1 made by Collier ! There is an internet version without a lot of photographs, profiles and sheets on http://www.revi.cz/cz/revi/65_1.html too. I you want I can send you PDF files of printed version. It has about 8MB.
