primer on fw-190 rudder ?
Hi All,
Just been browsing planes & pilots No 9 FW-190 by dominique breffort & andre jouineau On page 8 there are two profiles, one of V5,Wn0005, showing a faded red rudder. one of A-0/U13,Wn0027,showing a slightly less faded red rudder. quote 'it's rudder was given a coat of reddish primer' Curiosity strikes me, anyone know if the profiles are correct ? cheers jerry |

Re: primer on fw-190 rudder ?
Jerry
I have not seen the profiles concerned, but from experience of having seen quite a few remnants of recovered rudder fabric they were usually coated with a dull brick-red primer with the camo over the that. I am sure there will be many here far better qualified than me to expand on that and possibly give you an RLM shade....if there is one!! |

Re: primer on fw-190 rudder ?
Hi Andy
Thanks for the info on what you have found, makes sense, if the rudder is fabric, that it would have a primer first. cheers Jerry |
