Fulmar shot down 12 February 1942

Hi guys

I hope there's someone out there with an interest in the FAA and Fulmars!

I have a note that a Fulmar was shot down (by whom/what?) during a patrol off the Egyptian coast on 12 February 1942, in which the TAG L/Airman Norman Davison was killed. The identity and fate of his pilot is unknown to me, as is the serial number of the aircraft, which I believe was from the RN Fighter Flight at Fuka (later 889 Squadron).

Any detail/information will be appreciated.
Cheers
Brian

Re: Fulmar shot down 12 February 1942

hello,

DAVISON, Norman, Act/Leading Airman, FAA/FX 78099, Grebe, 12 February 1942, missing

All so far, may not have been Fulmar. Perhaps Swordfish or Albacore.
