is this plane 42-10453?

Info on 57th FG web is with prefix 42:

In the MACR, there is 41 ? probably typo

If the serial number is 42-10453, it is this machine? Still in desert camo?

There apparently is an error in the MACR. The MACR as typed shows 41-10453 but there is correction comment in the version in fold3.com giving the number as 42-10453. When you put your cursor over the serial number in the MACR, the correction window pops up.

The eye-witness statement by Lt Novy (MACR page 7) refers to Turner's plane as #32, which appears to be the number of the plane in the picture.

The MACR in the National Archives does not show the "correction".

Antun, do you live near the supposed crash-site? If yes, I would talk to local fishermen and see if anyone knows of a wreck in that area. Danny

Yes Danny, I live near of Dubrovnik.
I have talked to a witness who told me about this case but I don't have any information regarding possible location of aircraft.
