Anti bomber weapons
Guys
Are there any of the more obscure weapons that the Luftwaffe concocted to attack the heavy bombers? I know of Musik, R4M & 21cm rockets, X-4 missile, air burst bombs, BK5 gun, The MK112/114 almost's. What about downward firing 30 or 37mm? TIA Andy |

Re: Anti bomber weapons
Not down, but upward firing 37mm drilling, the SG 116 "Zellendusche". That was limitedely used operationaly on Fw 190 As. Unlike the more experimental 20mm battery of "Harfe". Another experimental 50mm salvo mortar SG 500 "Jägerfaust" on the Me 163.
Experimental front-/ downwards firing 30mm cannons were tried on Ju 88 P.

Re: Anti bomber weapons
Andy120 is probably not interested in the anti-aircraft rockets. In addition to Enzian, there was Wasserfall, Rheintochter, Feuerlilie, Schmetterling, BV 226, Taifun, Föhn and several others. Rudolf Lusar claims a couple of the Wasserfall were launched into a large formation of bombers near the end of 1944 "with devastating effect." I don't think I ever read about that.
