Forward Base for III./ZG 76 - France Sep-Oct 1940

Hi all

Can anyone confirm the name of the forward base used by III./ZG 76, shown in the attached Flugbuch entry for 27th September and 1st October 1940?

I am struggling to read this one.

Thanks for any help.

Best wishes

Tim,

looks like Domquer. But I can't find an airfield near Domquer (France).

Best Regards

It should be Dompierre (Orne), about 60 km North of Laval, where III./ZG 76 was based.

Thank you both for your input.

Dompierre-du-Chemin looks like a very strong possibility.

Domqueur (FR) (c. 50 06 N – 02 02 E)
General: landing ground in NE France approx. 15 km E of Abbeville. No
record found of use by the Luftwaffe. Possibly a satellite or dispersal field
for Abbeville.
Remarks:
26 May 42: believed to have become operational this date.
26 Jul 42: assigned airfield code number 265.

Could this be it? I show no Dompierre-du-Chemin in any of my extensive listings for France or for III./ZG 76.

Hi Larry

It could be.... I am honestly not sure!

Thanks for this though. Definitely one to investigate.

Looks like Domqeuer to me in the FB. Are there also May 1940 flights in the FB? I mean anything on Kutscha on May 10-15? I had the pleasure of meeting Herbert Kutscha many years ago....

Cheers,

John

Hi John

Thanks for this.

Sorry but no. This Bordfunker flew with Kutscha from September 1940 to September 1942.

It looks like Domqueur could be the favourite.

Thanks everyone.
