Funeral of Luftwaffe POW

Hi all,

I came across some pictures of a funeral of a Luftwaffe POW. Unfortunately I don't have his name. I think these pictures were taken in Canada or Schotland. I'm attaching some pictures of the uniformed guard of honour and of the hearse (with licence plate). Can anyone identify the country in which this funeral took place?

Thanks in advance,
Rudi.

Re: Funeral of Luftwaffe POW

It's not a British number plate and (unlike the battledress) the forage caps don't look like British Army ones, so I think Canada is more likely.

Also that's a lot of snow by English (if not Scottish) standards.

Canada. Canada and the U.S. have always had the same shape license plates. That appears to be an Ontario or Manitoba plate.

Thanks Nick & Larry for your quick replies. Very much appreciated.
So Canada it is and most likely it's Espanola POW Camp.

Regards,
Rudi.
