Re: Spitfire photos CBI + Japanese a/c
Thanks for sorting these out, but can I beat the Antipodeans to this? Neither RAF nor CBI but Australians in the Pacific South West. This Zero (well, presumably this one) has just turned up in discussions on j-aircraft.com.

Re: Spitfire photos CBI + Japanese a/c
Ah, but I knew that 74 Sq RAF was European based. The first (and only?) to use rockets on Spitfire Mk.XVIs? I did wonder whether it was a mistake for 54 Sq RAF before remembering the RAAF unit and its codes
I've just read the Detail and Scale on the Corsair - another American who doesn't know his British roundels. Tut tut. You will find photos of Spitfire Mk.Vs in India with the large blue-white roundels, as these were widely used there in 1943. However, I've never seen an RAF Mk.VIII with these. |

Yeah, 79 Sqn RAAF had ZP- and the Grey Nurse Shark nose painting.
54 Sqn RAF was at Darwin with Mk Vb's, did they stay in OZ and get Mk VIII or head back to British rule? |
