You are welcome, Kutscha. I believe that the photo was published for the first time back in the year 1976 in Karl Ries' book Photo Collection - Luftwaffe Embleme 1935 - 1945, where the emblem was presented as one of the JG 53 personal emblems from late 1939 - early 1940.
As far as I can tell, the correct identification of the emblem was unveiled by Robert Szoltyk on the old LEMB, but I cannot remember the exact date. |
