Asso di Bastoni's claims

Hello

Several victories were claimed during Operation Crusader by the 153°Gruppo "Asso di Bastoni" in november 41 (the facts reported in "A history of the mediterranean air war" vol.1 are fragmentary, )

21/11/41.
one hurricane by 3 pilots

22/11/41.
one wellington (109° Sq) by 5 pilots

23/11/41.
two hurricanes (237° Sq) by 5 pilots

Does anyone has the identity of the claimants

Thanks in advance

Best regards
michel

Re: Asso di Bastoni's claims

Hi Michel,

for the 1941 there are not the diaries of 372ª, 373ª and 374ª Squadriglia but only the Diary of 153º Gruppo where there are not reported the name of pilots involved in the dogfights.

Regards, Daniele.

Hi Daniele

It's really distressing especially that for once, the british losses are 100% verifiable and correspond to the Italian's claims.

Hi Michel,

unfortunately it is true ... but for the defeated it is often so... (Luftwaffe and Regia Aeronautica).

For example, many italian diaries after 1942 there aren't...
For our researches we must based on LCV (Logbooks) or other documents, but it is not always possible.

Cheers, Daniele.
