Re: Obfw. Josef "Pepi" Jennewein JG51

Peter, the article is in issue 1 (1/1994) of Revi and is only one page (Page 34) written in Czech and has a colour profile of his Black 5 near the front cover.

Cheers

Chris

Peter, to bad you don't have it would like to have known what it had to say. I'll try and find some more of his claims. I thought that with the one instance with the Pe-2 he might be "pushing" his score. The Soviet aviators on the 6May43 described the attack as 6-10 FW 190 coming from all directions but it seems that Jennewein was the only one making any claims.

Hi Nokose,
do you know this page?
http://luftwaffe.cz/jennewein.html
I think Petr uses also the mentioned article to complet the list...no 6.3.1943 claim...
regards

Peter

Hello Nokose,

There were four claims for Pe-2s made by Ofw. Josef Jennewein on 6 May 1943 (his 47th - 50th) at 13.30, 13.31, 13.32 and 13.38 hours. He was a sole member of I. Gruppe who made claims against Petlyakovs, although there were no fewer than 27 claims made by I./JG 51 on this date. Source: JFV 12/I, p. 491 by Prien et al. Hope this helps.

Ota
