Thank you Chris - will look out for that one - your book on Luftwaffe Aces of the Battle of Britain was excellent by the way. Have you anything on Antonin Velebnovski - who was killed in a Hurricane on 16/7/41?

Aces in the Battle of Britain is new to me! Are you sure you have the right title? 82581 Antonin Velebnovsky joined 1 Sqn 22 Oct 40. Damaged a Bf 109 21 May 41 but was killed 16 Jul 41 when his Hurricane Z3902 crashed at Graffham. Was a Flt Lt by then and buried at Chichester

Sorry - meant to say The Luftwaffe Fighters' Battle of Britain' - was very good - thank you for the info - and thank you for filling me in about Velebnovski -

I enthusiastically endorse Chris's recommendation of "Der Luftkrieg In Europa Vols 1 & 2" by Ulf Balke. It is a superb history of the unit, and was published by Bernard & Graefe Verlag, Koblenz, 1989.
