Fw 189 A-1 of 1.(H) 32. Norway
This aircraft made a forced landing at island Senja, northern-Norway.
I am trying to find date of landing and names of crew. Some say it happened in 1944. Spring 1945 is also mentioned. Both airmen were rescued. The aircraft was later salvaged and brought ashore at Rødsand. Possible code: V7+1H TIA Kjell |

Re: Fw 189 A-1 of 1.(H) 32. Norway
Hi, Kjell
1.(H)/32 sustained losses on the following dates of 1944: 22.03.1944 can be ruled out - aircraft damaged 10 - 50% on an operational sortie observed by the enemy 26.03.1944 can be ruled out - loss reason not compatible - bombed on the ground 15.04.1944 can be ruled out - three crew members killed 12.05.1944 can be ruled out - three crew members killed 28.05.1944 possible - 1 crew member killed - 2 wounded - Matti? Any NVM on this one? 03.07.1944 distinct possibility - loss on a non-operational sortie - no injuries to crew 05.09.1944 possible - one crew member wounded 22.09.1944 distinct possibility - loss on a non-combat flight - no injuries to crew 25.09.1944 can be ruled out - shot down by Flak - but no crew injuries 09.10.1944 can be ruled out - 2 aircraft destroyed on the ground by ground forces 13.10.1944 2 aircraft - at least one can be ruled out as it was destroyed by Infantry fire. The other is a possibility 22.10.1944 23.10.1944 can be ruled out - shot down in combat - 1 crew member killed (Bf 109?) 02.11.1944 possible but unlikely - total loss on an operational sortie - 1 crew member wounded 08.11.1944 possible but unlikely - damaged on an operational sortie 12.11.1944 can be ruled out - aircraft destroyed on the ground by ground forces 04.12.1944 possible but unlikely - damaged on an operational sortie 05.12.1944 possible but unlikely - damaged on an operational sortie Hope this can narrow yor search somewhat. Haven't had time to go through war diaries etc yet Regards, Andreas B

It must be in 1945, when this unit was located at Bardufoss, Before October 1944 it was in the East.
