Maj.Paul Foerster

Hi,

I know that Maj. Paul Foerster was with ZG1 claiming three victories but perhaps somebody knows:
- if he was with I. or II./ZG1
- when he flown with this unit?
Thanks in advance.

Regards

Robert

Re: Maj.Paul Foerster

Here is what we have on this guy:

FÖRSTER, Paul.
21.11.42 Hptm.(d.R./Fl.), trf from Höh.Kdo.d.Jagd-u.Zerstörerschulen München to XII. Fliegerkorps.
23.09.43 Hptm., appt Staka 2./NJG 1 (to 22.01.44).
23.01.44 Hptm., appt Kdr. I./NJG 1 (to 01.10.44 † - crashed in flames while attempting to land following a test flight). Posthumous promo to Maj.

No mention of ZG 1, but that doesn’t mean he hadn’t been with that unit. We just do not yet have evidence of this.
We hope that this helps.

Hello Robert: I have, Then Oblt., Paul Foerster, as having flown with I/ZG26 (possibly 3rd staffel) during the French campaign. 3 Victories prior to transfer to nightfighters..8/NJG1 I believe. Source is Boiten and Freeman's "Battles with the Nachtjagd". Happy New Year Dean

Re: Maj.Paul Foerster

Hi Dean,

OK I have him with 3./ZG26 but I was not sure if this is the same man. Claimed three victories probably on 10.05, 14.05 and 08.06.40.
Happy New Year!

Regards

Robert

Re: Maj.Paul Foerster

Hello to all and a happy new year.
May I ask IF Maj Forster was flying a He 219 or a Bf 110 at the time he crashed in flames? IF it was a He 219 any of you would have the codes ( G9 + ?? ) and the serial number? Who was flying with him as RO?
Thanks
Adriano Baumgartner
