Name of B-24D, S/N 42-40364?

What was this Liberator’s name (B-24D, S/N 42-40364), of 343rd BS, 98th BG, 9th AF, shot down on 1 Aug. 1943 over Bulgaria: ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ or ’Prince Charming’?
Only one crewmember - the tail gunner - escaped alive, badly burned.

Thanks,

Yes, I know this. However, Michael Hill in his Black Sunday book gives 'Prince Charming' as the aircraft's name, and illustrates it with a photo (page 238). So, at a moment, the aircraft must have changed names. Which one was valid on 1 Aug. 1943?

Is the serial number visible in your photo?
According to Wallace Forman 'Prince Charming' was 42-40082 in the same unit.

Cheers

Regarding your posted link shot , I think the year is Winter 1942 , Ramat David or Lydda (Lod) , Palestine or early 1943 Fayed ,Egypt before moving to Benghazi . The crews depicted on that link are the originals of Capt.Rolo Lawrence ( rear raw first from right on attached photo ) rather Jim Gunn's crew .Here's a shot of the original crew , RAF Ramat David, Palestine ( today's Ramat David AB , Israel Air Force ). The " Prince Charming " had nothing to do with this aircraft and past info must be attributed to early errors on Mike Hill's publication which were revised throughout the years.
