Ju 88 Stammkennzeichen DN+BM

I have a St.Kz. DN+BM that was mentioned in connection with a Ju 88. However, I believe this St.Kz. was assigned to a Bü 181. Could it be that it was a typo and there was a very similar St.Kz. for a Ju 88?

Thanks,
Roger

Re: Ju 88 Stammkennzeichen DN+BM

Hello,
was for Bü 181B-1 WNr. 210 389 LKS 2 Summer 1943.
Is was normal that one STKZ was given as an "Doppel" for another plane after crash etc. I have dozens of STKZ given for more then one plane.

Re: Ju 88 Stammkennzeichen DN+BM

Hello Hanshauprich,

I was not aware that St.Kz. were issued more than one time after the first aircraft was lost. It then makes sense that DN+BM was indeed a Ju 88 St.Kz. At least I can almost certainly exclude that there was a typo in the source document.

Hello Rémi,

Thank you for the information. DN+O may have be a close match if it was DN+BO and not DN+.O. If it was DN+BO, it would be another strong indication that there was not a typo in the source document and DN+BM was indeed assigned to a Ju 88.

DN+B? is a nearly complete StKz-Block for Bü 181s. Just check

Dozens look as a bit to much for me, post at first one dozen, to show us...

Roger,

It dépends on what type of doc is coming from, nd if typo or letters not easy to read or phone transm. or...

Try to clear the background around this Ju88 it could ease interpretation of the Kz ..

Re: Ju 88 Stammkennzeichen DN+BM

It was an entry in Flugbuch Hövelmann entry164 as a Ju 88G-7 -1944-12-15 from Rechlin
Entry 165 was given as a Ju 88G-7 WNr.621045 from Dessau

Re: Ju 88 Stammkennzeichen DN+BM

The Stammkennzeichen DN+BM should read ND+BM, which was the Ju 88 V21 WNr. 3113 under test at Rechlin since 11.41.

Re: Ju 88 Stammkennzeichen DN+BM

"under test at Rechlin since 11.41"

gives incorrect impression, plane had been "in the research business" much longer: testing stronger undercarriage Dessau 11.1940, then for A-4 (Jumo 211 J engines) 01.1941, later designated V21/1, for Jumo 213 A-1 (1943), last known testing Jumo 213 E/F (10.1944); in English parlance "engine test bed" .... -Ed
