Ju-88D-1,T5+GH, colour question

HI All,
A colour question that is puzzling me.

As I understand it east front a/c had a yellow rear fuselage band, A/c in the med area white band .

In Luftwaffe im focus No:5 Pg 17, photo 23 shows Ju-88D-1, T5+GH, 430861 of I/(f)100, it has a light coloured fuselage rear band but a dark rudder, The rudder is in the shade, but even the parts of the rudder hinges facing forward are dark.

Is this :-

1) a Ju-88 with a yellow rear fuselage band and a 'reddish' rudder ?

Or

2) a Ju-88 with a white rear band (even tho' it is on the east front) and a yellow rudder ?

Cheers
Jerry

Easy answer: "it's a b/w photo, we'll never know."

Considered answer: yellow band and a rudder angled away from the light (note the reflection of sunlight off the paint on the upper fuselage) thus appearing darker. I'd guess also that the rudder could be a replacement, painted in a darker green which campounds the effect of its being out of direct light. Note the word "guess"!

Hi Nick,
Thanks for the comments/guess.
I must admitt never thought of the replacement rudder, that might explain the front end of the hinges being dark, even when they are out of the shadow.
cheers

Hi All,
Just noticed another a/c this time in Luftwaffe im focus No:4, photo L4, Pg 6, a JU-88C-6, 5K+AT, with the same light rear fuselage band & also a dark rudder.
Cheers

Re: Ju-88D-1,T5+GH, colour question

I have a 1(F)/100 photo album and can see the following from some of the photos:

White tips and a band around the spinners
All white spinners
Dark spinners and ac overwashed in white
White tips to spinners only & 'V' marking on outside of cowlings

However, no photos showing the back end of the ac apart from one (T5+LH) whose fuselage has a big white patch from before the T and back the tail with the T5 blacked out

Hi Chris,
Many thanks for the thoughts,
white bands etc , might explain the dark tail.
