New booklet: Dutch Profile No. 4 Dutch 'Presentation Spitfires'

Just got the latest publication by Dutch Profiles (Luuk Boerman of Dutch Decals and Camouflage en Kentekens).

Dutch Profile No.4
Dutch 'Presentation Spitfires'
The Dutch Indies Presentation Spitfires of the Prins Bernhard Fonds
40 pages

by Nico Geldhof and Luuk Boerman

This fourth part in the Dutch profile series handles about the more than 100 Dutch "Spitfire Fund" Spitfires. These were funded by the people of the Dutch East Indies and were in use by more than 90 different RAF/FAA/USAAF squadron. Not a single one however found its way to 322 Dutch Squadron RAF!

These booklets are dual text (Dutch and English) and the format can be compared to the Warpaint series, with many interesting photographs and (basic) profiles.

Previous volumes:

No.1 Lockheed L-12/212
No.2 P-51D/K Mustang
No.3 Hawker Sea Fury http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?p=8273

You can also order matching decals.

Thanks for posting this. Spitfires are not my cupof tea, but some of their other stuff is very interesting.

Ah yes, "Camouflage en Kentekens". Do you know if there is any plan to reprint this volume? I have looked everywhere, including the publisher, have never even found a copy of this book available, much less for a reasonable price. Beginning to wonder if they made it up, just to tease us bibliophiles......

I spoke with two of the authors and the original publishers:
no chance, too expensive etc etc etc

To put it bluntly Like a cold day in hell!!

You could ask Luuk Boerman though, he kept a couple of copies (this is where I got mine).
