Re: KG 30 losses 15th. August 1940
Ed,thanks for the reply.I have been confused by the marks of the Ju 88's of KG 30 lost this day, one table gives that Stab, I Gruppe and III Gruppe all based at Aalborg had on 13-8-40 76 Ju 88 A's with 62 operational. The losses for III gruppe show them all as 'C' models yet photos of Oblt Bachmann's aircraft of 7/30 ,which crash-landed in England ,shows it has a glazed nose of the 'A' series. I thought production Ju 88 C's all had solid noses. Although I read that the Zerstorerstaffel/KG 30 had formed the basis for II/NJG 1 in July 1940 did the each Gruppen of KG 30 retain a Zerstorer element after this?

There were no Cs involved as they had, as you said earlier, had been transferred to NJG 1

Re: KG 30 losses 15th. August 1940
Chris :- Thanks for the info. I always thought these were A's untill the 'C' started to appear in books which I assume used Luftwaffe Loss returns as a source. I suppose a mis-type was made in 1940 ,
