Uffz Otto-Friedrich FAHNERT - 9./SG 10

Hello,

we are looking for information about Uffz Otto-Friedrich FAHNERT.

He crashed 5. June 1944 near Mikolowo/Russia.

His remains are not recovered yet. The crashsite of his Fw 190 F-8, Serial 930 161, has been found.

Is there someone who can help with additional information and maybe a photo of him. This would be great. Thanks to all of you.

Best wishes

Uwe Benkel

No help

But according to Smith/Creek the WNr batch started with 930171 which means the quoted WNr did not exist...

Anyone with an explanation to this?

Cheers
Stig

Hello Uwe,
Fw-190A-8 (or F-8) was found in the area of the city of Nikolaev (Mikolayiv) in the Lviv region of Ukraine.
No serial numbers or pilot remains were found. "Identified" apparently only by the proximity of the find to the specified place of loss in the documents.
Very brave.
Best regards,
Kirill

I believe that this WNr batch started with 930161. Besides that I have loss info on 930165, 930167, 930168 and 930169.
