Fliegerdivision 2 missions over Channel june 1944

Hello,

I am actually making researches on missions flown by KG26 and KG77 over Seine Bay and Channel from june to mid-august 1944.
In june, missions were flown on following nights : 6 to 7 june, 7 to 8 june, 10 to 11 june, 11 to 12 june, 12 to 13 june, 14 to 15 june, 18 to 19 june and 22 to 23 june.
From ULTRA, no missions were flown on nights 13 to 14 june, 25 to 26 june, 26 to 27 june and 30 june to 1st july.
It seems possible that the torpedo aircraft operate on nights 8 to 9 june, 9 to 10 june and 24 to 25 june and perhaps on other dates but I have no documents to confirm (messages ULTRA, flight books, ...).
If anyone can give me information, he would sincerely be welcome.

Thanks in advance

Claude

Re: Fliegerdivision 2 missions over Channel june 1944

According to Operational Watch reports (TNA HW13/39) an attack on shipping by Fl.Div. 2 was intended at dawn on 27 June "if weather suitable. No evidence of operation." Also, a plan to operate Do 217 Rotten from III./KG 100 was abandoned.

A planned operation on 30 June/1 July was cancelled because of bad weather.

No torpedo operations were recorded for 24/25 June, only Do 217 (with Fritz-X) and Mistel.

You can get the texts (translated into English) of the German Naval War Diaries for June–August 1944 here.

Thanks for the link Nick;

Yes Jerry, HMS Boadicea was torpedoed during night 12 to 13 june ; III/KG26 and I and III/KG77 were operating this night. Message ULTRA KV8305 indicates 13 Ju-88 with 7 torpedoes effectively launched for I/KG77 and 11 Ju-88 and 6 torpedoes launched for III/KG77 but I have no precision for the identification of targets attacked.
