Aircraft crash site Oxfordshire

Can any one help? I live in the village of South Moreton, Oxfordshire and ever since I was young heard tale of a German aircraft that crashed near the village church during the war. Does anyone have access to archive information which would allow me to know exactly where or indeed if the aircraft crashed near the village? MY reasons are purely out of interest and becuase I recently found what looks like a navigators lamp while out walking.
Your help would be much appreciated.
