G.A.F. Meteorology Reports 14/15th August 1940 please?

Hello

In our British National Archives I have come across British Intelligence records of our source in Germany passing information back to British Intelligence which indicated that the German Air Force were only flying weather recco missions in the early hours and early morning of 15 August 1940 to look at our weather and that German Air Ops were put back and finally cancelled due to unfavourable flying conditions over Southern England early on 15 August 1940.

I have got some of our records and notice that our R.A.F. Coastal Command cancelled their Ops (with the exception of the odd patrol) owing to a Front moving S.E. over Southern England, but our surviving Met records appear contradictory, with one Met Chart (which matches RAF Station ORBs recording the weather in detail) indicating or showing a front, one RAF ORB even forecasting lightning on the passage of the front over London at about 06.30 hours. However another British Air Ministry Met Chart mysteriously indicating no front at all.

No surviving British Forecast Met records mention possibilities of lightning, despite advising RAF Units of Lightening at the time.

There was also a German Meteorologist based at Brest advising the G.A.F. units and German Safety Service.

I understand that the Germans got captured records back after WW2. Has anyone got any information from your German Archives about the weather over the English Channel and Southern England which you could email me please?

If you Private Message me, I can send my email address.

Thanks, Mark
