Do 217 Update

Osprey book is now at the printers but still not out until September 2021. Crecy book is now standing at 72000 words and up to 6 June 1944. Photo count increasing slowly (anyone know what happened to Manfred Griehl’s photos?) & JP Viera has started on profiles. Delivering this August but will not be out until 2022.

That's no excuse - get cracking soldier

Really looking forward to this one Chris. Also enjoyed your podcast with Matt Bone - more of these would be great.

Excellent news. Really looking forward to these, particularly the Crecy book. A largely forgotten but potent bomber.

I think you might be disappointed about the potency!

It caused disproportionate damage on lone raider attacks on the UK (when it wasn't shot down...)

The first German twin-engine bomber to appear in 1/72 scale, as well, although way crude by today's standards, much appreciated in its day.

Re: Do 217 Update

Indeed Bombphoon but mere drops in the ocean compared to what was happening over Germany and as you rightly say when they were not shot down. I have written an article on such Pirate attacks by means of example which will be out later this year-during one such attack a Do 217 while being chased by a 141 Sqn Beaufighter collided with a gasometer.

The Airfix one in pale blue plastic? That brings back memories!
