Hans and Joachim Grubert I/JG54

Hi guys

Out of curiosity - I have a note that twins Hans and Joachim were killed on the same date, 15 April 1943, while serving with I/JG54. Is this correct? Were they flying on the same sortie? Same Staffel? Both shot down?

Can someone enlighten me, please?

Cheers
Brian

Hans Grübert

Hello Brian

Unteroffizier Hans Grübert (5 victories) of 1./JG 54 killed on 15 September 1943 in Fw 190 A-6 "White 11" (W.Nr. 530 322) by Flak at PQ 35 370

Christer Bergström states that Unteroffizier Joachim Grübert of I./JG 54 was also killed that day but I did not find any loss list entry for him.

I hope that this helps.

Horrido!

Leo

Just a note on the claims total for Hans Grüber. Leo's post gives him 5, but I find a total of 14 in Tony Wood's listing.
