4 April 1943
At approx. 21.00 hours a Do 217 of 3./KG 2 crashed in sea about 20 km west of Flushing (as related in Balke's KG 2 history). The sole survivor - Uffz. Martin Hornung - believed that they were hit by a nightfighter and my question is whether this can be confirmed by a British claim?
By the way, this Uffz. started to attract attention by firing red stars and shortly after that, this was observed by VP 1304 who steered towards the scene and succeeded in rescuing Martin Hornung (21.15 hours). |

Re: 4 April 1943
Not fighter according to 'Fighter Command War Diaries' whilst Balke cannot match a claim
