Re: JU87 Losses 31 Oct 1942, MTO, Need Help

Hi Tundra

According to Chris Shores' Fighters over the Desert, at least three were damage/lost in combat: One pilot of III/StG3 was killed; one pilot wounded; and one pilot of I/StG3 killed by flak. Possibly this information is now out of date and someone may have additional details.

Happy Christmas

Brian

Re: JU87 Losses 31 Oct 1942, MTO, Need Help

Hi Tundra

I think these were two different actions. It seems that 112 and 3RAAF claimed three Ju87s and three probables on 31 October, while 112 claimed a further seven Ju7s and seven probables on 1 November. Therefore, it is possible that three Ju87s were either shot down or badly damaged with crew members wounded on 31st, and at least four shot down on 1st, as noted by Jim.

Happy Boxing Day!

Brian
