Gruppenkommandeur Kurt Ubben's "Yellow 16"

Does anyone have some scanned photos that they will post of Gruppenkommandeur Kurt Ubben's "Yellow 16" Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6? The only references I have are the single photo and illustrations found in the EagleCals EC#42 decal package.

Re: Gruppenkommandeur Kurt Ubben's "Yellow 16"

This aircraft is on the cover of Roba/Pegg's Jagdwaffe: The Mediterranean 1944-1945- Volume 4, Section 4, so I'd presume it is well covered in there,

Chris

Re: Gruppenkommandeur Kurt Ubben's "Yellow 16"

Are they claiming that the machine is actually Ubben's or one from one of the Staffeln (9./JG 77) of his Gruppe which adopted the moniker 'Wander-Circus Ubben".

As I recall it is not claimed to be Ubben's personal aircraft and I've never heard anyone else claim that either. Perhaps a misunderstanding at some point?

Re: Gruppenkommandeur Kurt Ubben's "Yellow 16"

This is not Ubben's aircraft. I will have to check when I get home but I believe that at this time Kurt Ubben was flying an aircraft marked with a Doppel Winkel , the common Gruppenkommandeur marking.

Re: Gruppenkommandeur Kurt Ubben's "Yellow 16"

The Eaglecals decal sheet #42 does not refer in any way to Kurt Ubben. The Bf 109 "gelbe 16" is instead reported as the one flown by Uffz. Lindemann...

At least this is what reported here: http://www.modellversium.de/decal-ec...ail.php?id=196.

AFAIK, not a word saying that the plane of III./JG 77 illustrated in the decal sheet was of Maj. Ubben can be found in the site of Eagle Editions.

Two pictures in Eric Mombeek's "JG 77 in Italy" article, Avions no. 89, "..flown by Uffz. Lindemann.."
