Re: Coordinate K105290
Hi Alain,
A conversion can be made via this website : https://www.echodelta.net/mbs/eng-translation.php In this case a V has to be added. This gives 50°37'49"N 5°03'24"E. This is Wasseiges, Belgium. Best regards, m vr gr Luc |

Re: Coordinate K105290
The system used is explained here:
http://www.echodelta.net/mbs/eng-overview.php To determine which map to use you will need to have some general idea where it is. You need to get the leading "letter" in the system. As an example wK105290 on the Nord de Guerre Zone translates to: Latitude : 50° 34' 45'' N Longitude : 12° 07' 34'' E Does this question relate to MACR 10527? https://catalog.archives.gov/id/91093822 and... 2nd Lt Frank B Clements, Jr: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/...ank-b-clements The reason I ask is that co-ordinate K105290 is mentioned as the last seen whereabouts of the Clements plane, but on page 11 of the MACR that location is given as F105290. (wF105290 on Nord de Guerre) The map on page 5 shows a crash location near Schmidt, Germany. The map shows an "X" labeled "K105290", but it appears to be more likely that it should be labeled wF105290 according to the "echodelta" translator. Clements was seen to bail out of his P-38 and he landed (via parachute) at about wF105295 Last edited by RSwank; 8th December 2021 at 03:14. |
