Re: Late war Bf 109 pictures source

Hell Gang,

I just uploaded another picture of Lt. Friedrich-Wilhelm "Timo" Schenk's Bf 109 G-10 W.Nr. unknown "Rote 5", 2./JG 300, taken at Borkheide in December 1944, courtesy of www.jg300.de website.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/2809206...n/photostream/

As it is a close-up of the cockpit area, I noticed a five digit number painted under the hand grip door next to the rear of the cockpit... Number is 47221; could it be the Erla Factory Werk Nummer, and if yes, what actual RLM given W.Nr.? This could give us at last the identity of the superb plane recently illustrated by Anders;-))

Cheers
Marc

Re: Late war Bf 109 pictures source

Hello all,

I did not see the foto in Marc's archives, but on page 235 in the book "Defending the Reich 1944-1945" by Robert Forsyth, depects a Erla Haube, Tall Tail G-6, Gruppe IV wavy bar, with the inscription "Margot", possibly of JG 27 during the summer of 1944. Could this possibly be Heinrich Bartels mount?

Thanks.

I don't thinks so, Oberst: Bartel's plane was "nicknamed "Marga"... and this particular machine is said to be a Bf 109 G-6 from 10./JG 27, Champfleury-La Perthe, France, July 1944.

I would like to know the name of the pilot who flew during the third season (3 Staffel Mickey Mouse) in the Condor Legion in the Spanish Civil War, the Messerschmitt Bf109E with identification number 6128. I have a good pic

Hello Karl,

This is not the place for your question.
You already asked for it/him in two other different threads and I did answer you.
Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards, Franck.

Gents,

i'm having a six-pack of "Schnaps" for tonight because flickr reliably doesn't work for me. I'm afraid it won't do as well in 2014...
